We Are the Future
We are the Future is another facet of our community work. Starting from the positive premise that young people have assets and can offer their talents to the community, this group works with a diverse mix of youth. These young people are an answer to the often–negative stereotypes of the young. They stress the need to provide uplifting and positive messages from their viewpoint to their peers and to the community. Since the inception of the group three years ago they have been involved in a variety community projects and partners. Chief among these partnerships is the Ohio County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, warning against the use of tobacco products and under-age alcohol purchases and consumption.
