Help prevent youth homelessness by raising money and awareness to support youth served by the Youth Services System Transitional Living Program!
November is National Runaway Prevention Month. Since 2011, Youth Services System has partnered with local businesses and individuals for a fun outdoor, overnight event called the Wheeling SleepOut. Teams and individuals fundraise for the cause in the weeks leading up to the event, and then they build a sleepout structure out of materials such as cardboard and duct tape and decorate it with info and statistics about youth homelessness.
This year's theme is "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" With this theme, we are celebrating the opportunities our youth have had and will have because of the shelter, care and educational/employment support they have received through the Transitional Living Program. For more information about this program, click here to access the page on our website.
There will be music, food, games, teamwork, competition and lots of coffee and hot chocolate!
