2nd Annual CampOut for a Cause Is June 4
This year's CampOut for a Cause will benefit families facing or experiencing homelessness in the Ohio Valley.
- Since September 2019, we have helped 94 families with 207 children from becoming homeless or have helped put them into housing.
- We had 194 individual men and women stay overnight in our Winter Freeze Shelter between Dec. 15 and March 15.
- We are consistently at capacity (19) in our Transitional Living Program residential facilities that prevent homelessness among and provides life-affirming services to 17- to 21-year-olds. We also serve these youth who are living in the community.
- Our Recovery Homes give men and women in recovery for substance use disorder a place to call home while they get back on their feet and practice their recovery.
Youth Services System does not serve these folks in a vacuum. YSS is proud to partner with such organizations as the Project HOPE street medicine team, City of Wheeling, Street MOMs, House of Hagar/HoH Share and local churches, along with service providers such as Northwood Health Systems, the Greater Wheeling Homeless Coalition, Wheeling Housing Authority, YWCA, Catholic Charities and countless foundations and individual donors to care for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
CampOut for a Cause is a fun way for families, churches, groups and ANYONE to get involved with helping these neighbors served by YSS. To create a fundraising page or to make a one-time or recurring donation, go to our CampOut for a Cause fundraiser page. To participate, share your fundraising page and then join us on Facebook on June 4 to listen to great local entertainers as you camp out in your favorite spot for the evening.
