YSS Winter Freeze Shelter Seeks Donations

WHEELING, W.Va. — Nov. 6, 2018 -- The Winter Freeze Shelter at Youth Services System Inc. is in need of sheets and blankets as it prepares for its 10th winter of providing warm overnight shelter to community members who are homeless.

Donations of extra-long twin sheets and blankets may be dropped off at Youth Services System, 87 15th St., between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Winter Freeze Shelter opens its doors Dec. 15 and will operate 90 consecutive days through March 15. For more information, call Holly Fox at 304-218-2847.

Youth Services System began the Winter Freeze Shelter in 2009. Through the continued generosity of the local businesses, organizations, churches and individuals who donate food, money, supplies and time, the Winter Freeze Shelter provides hot meals, conversation and warm beds to guests who have no place to go and are not eligible to stay at other shelters.
