Community Based Services

Youth Services System, Inc. offers outpatient and community based services to youth and families. We can help with individual and family relationship issues, behavior problems, parental concerns, abuse/neglect issues, school and/or employment problems, emotional health issues, problem solving and decision making. Our services promote the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families.

Services are offered in professional office environments, in the comfort of your own home or other community settings.

Regional Youth Service Center

Youth Services System, Inc. is the Regional Youth Service Center for Region One (Ohio, Marshall, Brooke, Hancock and Wetzel Counties).

A Regional Youth Service Center (RYSC) coordinates community-based mental health and substance use services for youths and young adults aged 12-25 and partners with families and youths. These supports aim to help youths thrive in their homes, schools and communities. The six RYSCs provide substance use treatment services, including early detection and recovery support services, and other kinds of mental health treatment recovery and wellbeing services. RYSCs also connect families and caregivers with supports and services.

Families and caregivers can receive the following services at RYSCs:

First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or Early Serious Mental Illness (ESMI)

 Also called "Quiet Minds" for youths and young adults 15-25 with emerging psychotic disorders, using a coordinated specialty care (CSC) model. More info at https://quietmindswv.com

Outreach

 The RYSC provides information and extends services or assistance to youth, young adults and families where they live or spend time.

Youth Peer Support

 Each RYSC has a Youth Recovery Specialist with lived experience to support youths and young adults involved with the RYSC. For more information, click here.

Youth Suicide Intervention

 Each RYSC has a Youth Suicide Intervention Specialist to provide youth suicide prevention screening, assessment, referral, safety-planning and follow-up with youths and young adults at risk of suicide.

Family Coordinators

 Each RYSC has Family Coordinators to engage family members of youths and young adults involved with the RYSC and other families in need of support and connection to services. For more information, click here

Vitrual Teen Support Group--Region I

Virtual Teen Peer Support Group on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30pm for 13 to 17-year-olds in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel Counties. Teens interested can fill out this form for more information.

Expanded School-Based Mental Health

The Youth Services System, Expanded School-Based Mental Health program has coordinators at Brooke Middle School, Triadelphia Middle School, Wheeling Middle, Moundsville Middle, Central Elementary, McNinch Primary, and Long Drain School with services also offered at Steenrod Elementary and Central Elementary. Expanded School Mental Health (ESMH) is a multi-tiered system of support where schools, families, and strategic community partners work together to enhance student mental health in schools. Tier one provides prevention services to all students on topics including but not limited to suicide prevention, and substance use prevention, as well as training for staff and faculty. Tier two focuses on early intervention with small student groups the school has identified as needing additional assistance. These groups work on building skills and resiliency. Tier three focuses on mental health treatment for students who need referrals to provide assessments and referrals to therapy.
